Several years back (a lot of years ago), a friend of mine asked me to design a roleplaying game (RPG) based from the DragonBall Z anime and the story that revolved around it. Being the role-playing and anime fanatic, I took to the task with much gusto. It was a fun deal, making something out of a story I virtually didn’t know much back then (you see the DBZ anime where almost all in Japanese dubs with no English subs back then). All I knew about that anime and manga (when I was lucky to read one) are the heroes’ names, their lineage, and that they fight really, really big time.
So I endeavored, creating background stories, a pseudo mini history, and a system of rules. It was really fun, crude yet really fun. Today, we all know how that (legendary) anime turned out, a great inspiration of many other (great) stories. Back then when we played it (using my crude rule set), we made everything up, making things explode while saving the day our way.
From this inspiration came a dream. Our world, our races. Our evolution and revolution. Over the years, with the help of more friends, we tweaked the system (percentile), pushed the limits on powers, developed stories and histories, inked and colored illustrations, and ultimately decided on a name (that was the most fulfilling part).
Without my friends, none of AEIOUS‘ multiple facets would be as colorful as you will see it today. From dreamers, we have evolved to become shapers. We molded and folded. We reached and twisted. We formed and conformed and reformed.
Now the World of AEIOUS is ready for you to explore. As you experience this multicolored fantasy world, I encourage you to share and bear with your friends. Play, fight, laugh, run, and save the world together. As I realized over the years, doing things with people you consider as friends is a tad more satisfying and more vibrant specially with the support of those that you love.
The World of AEIOUS is designed to test your imagination. To help it grow in various ways. Hopefully to help make you a better person in dealing with others. May it help you realize that the world is not really just about you, but is a greater sum of many, many, many parts. Big and small, great and simple, how you deal with each part will help define you.
